We enjoyed a yummy pancake breakfast. Grandma and Grandma had to head out early so they left right after breakfast. We all took our time getting ready for the day. We bundled up as much as we could and drove to Hardware Ranch for a sleigh ride with the Elk. It was FREEZING FREEZING cold!!!! We had to wait a couple of hours in line to ride and there was very little accomodation for the guests there. Becky and I took the kids and waited in the car for a good chunk of the time, but you think four little children locked in a small car is not the most ideal circumstances, even if it was warmer. I'm going to say it was just about not worth it. We enjoyed seeing the elk and all, but by the time we actually got to ride, my kids had had enough and were ready for warmth. Miles and Faith both pretty much bawled the whole ride and Lydia wasn't a happy camper either. It was rough....we may try again next year, NOT on New Year's Day or a freezing cold day or a weekend or any time it may be remotely busy and the sun isn't shining warmly! :)

I just loved how Esther was running around playing with my kids. Becky had fallen asleep on the couch and when Esther noticed her, she just climbed right up and camped out like this for a good 15 minutes or more. It was so cute. Becky never even noticed her there.
