March 2015: Bennett Family Time at Steve's Farm

The kids started playing on this bail of hay and so we thought it would make a great cousin picture. So Kate trotted out there to join, but steps away from reaching the bail, she sunk. It was a big pit of muddy manure! It went JUST over the top of her boots! Poor girl! Tyler had to come and pull her out.

She wasn't too interested in a fun picture after that....

I've always known my parents heritage as dairy-folk, but seeing it firsthand for the first time was fascinating! I actually got to milk a cow for the first time, kind of funny being a farmer's daughter and seeing all of this for the first time. I didn't realize how dirty it really is!

They were nearing the end of calving and the calves were all so precious.

The girls had a fun time with Cousin Kaylee. Faith and her sorted through jewelry on the drive way.

Ethan is a character. He just adored this cat and followed it around for close to an hour.

The boys really enjoyed being with Cousin Tyler! They thought he was pretty awesome! ...and he is.

Feeding the bigger male calves some grain.

And a BEAUTIFUL sunset to accompany shooting some guns, bows and arrows, and throwing some horse shoes before we gathered inside to say our goodbyes. It was a very enjoyable day. Some things we got to do that aren't pictured were take some rides on the rhino, a small gift exchange for the birthdays before this gathering, and of course eat some yummy smoked food.
