MIles at ONE

Miles Matthew is one year old!

My little handsome is over one year old and I cannot believe it. I still feel like he is my little baby and yet I know that he is not. He takes more steps every day. He understands so much when you talk to him and he now shows his disapproval when Momma leaves him.

Lets learn about MiLeS:
He is about 22 pounds
His favorite things to eat are:
      bagels and cream cheese
      kiwis
      water
      watermelon
      peas
His not so favorite things to eat:
                                                      eggs
                                                      mashed potatoes

He says (in sign): Please, Thank you, All
       Done, and Eat/Hungry/Food
He loves bath time especially playing with the shower head when it's down.
His interest in books has really developed in the last little while and he LOVES looking at pictures (pictures on the walls, pictures on the fridge, etc.)
He is developing dance moves that are nothing short of adorable!
His favorite song is probably Un L'Elephant, a french song that my cousin taught me years ago. He also likes Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and If You're Happy and You Know It

He is still the most patient little guy I know and endures constant, overbearing love (a.k.a. torture) from his big sister.
Miles loves to give hugs and kisses. He puts his little arms around your neck and pats your back (Yep! Melts your heart). His kisses are those Open mouth, wet, "mmmmuaw!" kisses.
He's fond of his pacifiers.
He loves cars and trucks. It's fun to watch him push them around and make the noise "vroom", without me having to show him at all!
His favorite thing is to throw things down the stairs.
He has discovered the joy of splashing in the toilet.
Still loves the bottom drawers in kitchen and the dishwasher.
He brushes his hair when he finds a comb or brush, puts hats on his head, Lydia's headbands too.

I love his adorable smile: dimples, crinkled nose, and squinted eyes. I love his chubby feet and little fingers that are beginning to point at things. I love this little boy to pieces! I feel so privileged to be his mother.

I love you forever son.

This is the cute little water table we got Miles for his birthday. Hallie came over to play and so she was there for our first encounter with it. They had a BLAST! I don't know why I wasn't expecting them to be so entirely soaked, otherwise I would have put Miles in his swimming suit. The girls didn't start in those leotards, they went in and changed when they realized how much fun splashing the water on themselves and each other was.

We went to the Zoo for Miles birthday also. His favorite things there were the farm animals and the invertebrate exhibit with all of the neon aquariums. Nicolette, Gabriel and William came too and we had a great time. The weather turned out beautiful! We came home and had a barbeque at Grandma and Grandpa's house. We opened his bubble blower (from Lydia) and the kids played with that for a while (Miles was scared of it at first). We had chocolate cupcakes with chocolate frosting, but Birthday Boy did not like it at all! I thought for sure he'd have at it, but he took one grab at the cupcake and pretty much avoided any further contact with it. However, he loved the candle (Lydia helped him blow out) and the song just beforehand!

Miles's new crib/toddler bed. He was so cute when he saw it for the first time. He loved it!

One of Miles's favorite exhibits at the zoo.

We thought this was pretty funny....and macho! :) He's a great daddy (and Uncle)! My man.

Grandma and Grandpa prepared a great barbeque for us!

It was delicious if you can't tell.

Miles liked it too! Especially the watermelon.

He was hilarious! He just didn't know what to think of it all. He loved the singing and the candle, but did not like the frosting or the cupcake.

Wasn't too sure about opening presents....

Seemed interested in the bubble blowing gun until.....

We turned it on.... haha
