Lydia is growing into quite the little adult. Her favorite kinds of activities are those where she is completely in charge with no parental assistance. As incredibly frustrating this is for me, I have tried to help her understand her leadership capabilities and encourage her to embrace her ambition in a noncontrolling way! She insisted on making the koolaid completely by herself for the first time. This included a big spill of water, ice cubes all over the kitchen floor, a few grunts and moans and cries of frustration, but, surprisingly, yummy tasting koolaid.
