This was actually a little bonus that we came across. We stopped at a little gas station to fill up with gas and there was a little museum tucked away kind of behind and to the side of the gas station. We were curious and could use a little break so we went to check it out. It was a fun little discovery. A little barn with pictures and stories of the first settlers in the plains. I never was aware of such a thing as "sodies" or "sod houses" until this little museum, but have since heard more than one reference to them! There was one built here behind the museum. Incredible the way that they had to build shelter because of lack of trees! Looked like a very QUIET (almost too quiet so I read), dirty and lonely life. Glad we got to expound our knowledge and culture. Driving across the country has certainly been interesting!
