Happy Thanksgiving 2012
We had a beautiful Thanksgiving at the Gelvin's home this year. Nicolette, Rachel and I went running in the early morning in the freezing cold!! Why? ...oh just for fun....which it was, but painfully fun. We went home and showered for the day and such and then all gathered at Nic's house to cook and chat and play and enjoy. It was really great. When the food was finally finished it looked beautiful and tasted absolutely delicious!! ...with the exception of Nicolette's picture perfect apple pie, which was perfect in every way other than the taste! It was quite a good laugh.
In the kitchen:
| We took turns washing the dishes as we went to help things run smoothly..and so they did! |
| Nic decided to try out the big marshmallows (because we were all out of the small ones) on the sweet potatoes made especially for Rachel. We all laughed when we went to pull them from the oven. yum! A mountain of marshmallows on top! |
Ready to Dine:
| Look at this spectacular sight! It truly was a delicious and perfect Thanksgiving Dinner. |
| Lydia and Gabe made these cute little turkey place holders for everyone. |
| Couldn't get everyone in, but here we all are, one big happy family. |
| Rachel's Raspberry Oreo Cream Pie, Nicolette's Apple Pie, My Pecan Pie (which, I'm going to have say was the best there!), and Mom's Pumpkin Cheesecake |
Enjoying her dessert (she wanted the marshmallow, cranberry salad for dessert) before heading up to bed.
